MI6's top assassin (Mark Strong) has a brother. Unfortunately for him, he's a football hooligan (Sacha Baron Cohen) from the town of Grimsby. Nobby has everything a man from the poor English fishing town of Grimsby could want - 9 children and the most attractive girlfriend in northern England (Rebel Wilson). There's only one thing missing in his life: his little brother, Sebastian. After they were adopted by different families as children, Nobby spent 28 years searching for him. Upon hearing of his location, Nobby sets off to reunite with his brother, unaware that not only is his brother an MI6 agent, but he's just uncovered a plot that puts the world in danger. On the run and wrongfully accused, Sebastian realizes that if he is going to save the world, he will need the help of its biggest idiot. A new assignment forces a top spy to team up with his football hooligan brother. Few films make me laugh out loud but this certainly did. Sacha Baron Cohen seems to improve with each film. This had his usual down to earth humour as well as a full blockbuster feel that was missing in his previous ones. He has a knack of taking humour where no one has previously gone and it always seems to work. I have no idea where he gets his ideas from and only wish other comedians could find that place to. Fans of British humour and Sacha will not be disappointed. I am not entirely sure how well it will "translate" for the audience across the pond but hopefully they will get it to. Possibly the 2nd funniest film ever after the brilliant Kick-Ass. Can't wait for Sacha's next project. I've scored this movie so high because it achieves (IMHO) what it sets out to do - to be a totally absurd, offensive and silly movie. At times we could not stop laughing.<br/><br/>Not knowing what this movie was about I expected a low budget film about a low life living in Grimsby. For the first few minutes, I got what I expected.<br/><br/>What happened next was quite a surprise. Yes, there have been lots of secret agent parody movies, such as Casino Royale, Our Man Flint and Austin Powers. So to carry off something new and entertaining these days isn't that easy.<br/><br/>Throwing two unlikely lads together along with the panoramic imagination of the script writer(s) brings forth some extremely funny, if not traumatizing scenes. I will not mention any of them so as not to spoil the surprise factor.<br/><br/>This movie is not for the faint hearted, or pure of heart.<br/><br/>Yes there are some old jokes present, but there is also a lot of new stuff that I guarantee you will have never seen before on the big screen.<br/><br/>Not a movie I would take my Mother to, but one that achieves the aim of making you laugh - if you like this kind of humour. Nobby is hardly a character for the ages. He's a basic fool. The movie, too, is chaotic and crude. But its lack of sophistication, like its odd mix of souped-up action and base comedy, ultimately feels like a badge of honour.
